"Rockford Morning Star", June 30, 1933: PLAN DOUBLE FUNERAL FOR MAN AND WIFE Couple Killed in Auto Crash To Be Buried On Saturday
Double funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon for Allen Hanson, 34, 2318 Broadway, and his wife, Mrs. Millie Hanson, 51, who died Wednesday night from injuries suffered when the automobile in which they were riding hurtled from the highway and overturned on North 2nd street road at the airport, six miles north of the city. The accident occurred when M. E. Dague said he stepped on his brakes to avoid striking an unlighted truck which suddenly loomed in front of his machine. The two couples were on their way home from a fishing expedition at the time of the accident. All four were hurled to the pavement as the automobile overturned. Hanson was born January 9, 1899 in Ostergotland, Sweden, and came to Rockford nine years ago. He and Mrs. Hanson were married in 1926. Two brothers in Sweden survive. He was a member of Harald Lodge No. 34, Scandinavian Fraternity of America, and Ostgota Gille. He was last employed at the Sundstrand Machine and Tool company plant here.
